Caring – this means we looked for evidence that the provider involved people and treated them with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect.
This is the first assessment for this newly registered service. This key question has been rated good. This meant people were supported and treated with dignity and respect; and involved as partners in their care.

Kindness, compassion and dignity
The provider always treated people with kindness, empathy and compassion and respected their privacy and dignity. Staff treated colleagues from other organisations with kindness and respect.
People gave positive feedback about how staff treated them. A person said, “I love [staff], they do everything I ask them to.”
Treating people as individuals
The provider treated people as individuals and made sure people’s care, support and treatment met people’s needs and preferences. They took account of people’s strengths, abilities, aspirations, culture and unique backgrounds and protected characteristics.
Care plans included key details about people’s unique needs. People said that staff knew them well. A staff member said, “I am sure [people] are happy with their care, the smile on their faces after each visit gives me inner joy, I am so glad and happy that I can put smile on their faces and seeing them smiling is rewarding to me.”
Independence, choice and control
The provider promoted people’s independence, so people knew their rights and had choice and control over their own care, treatment and wellbeing.
People said staff always checked before carrying out care and ensured they had a choice. One person said, “[Staff are] so polite, they always check with me, they say something like “We just need to do this, is that alright?”
Responding to people’s immediate needs
The provider listened to and understood people’s needs, views and wishes. Staff responded to people’s needs in the moment and acted to minimise any discomfort, concern or distress.
People and relatives said the service was responsive to their needs. Records showed staff were quick to respond to changes in people’s health. One person said, “We’ve got phone numbers for [the registered manager and team manager], if there was a problem they would come.”
Workforce wellbeing and enablement
The provider cared about and promoted the wellbeing of their staff, and supported and enabled staff to always deliver person-centred care.
Staff felt well supported by the management team. A staff member said, “The management team is extremely supportive and approachable. They provide guidance when needed and they work with us in the field sometimes.”
