Well-led
Well-led – this means we looked for evidence that service leadership, management and governance assured high-quality, person-centred care; supported learning and innovation; and promoted an open, fair culture.
At our last assessment we rated this key question Good. At this assessment the rating has remained Good. This meant the service was consistently managed and well-led. Leaders and the culture they created promoted high-quality, person-centred care.

The provider promoted a positive culture with clear values and a shared vision. Documents showed that the service had well defined values which were linked to a reward and recognition scheme acknowledging good staff performance. This supported a culture of appreciation and continuous improvement.
The provider’s approach encouraged transparency, inclusivity and a focus on delivering high quality care.
Capable, compassionate and inclusive leaders
The registered manager and leadership team were skilled, supportive and well‑regarded by people and staff. Relatives praised the manager’s approach, with one saying, “The service seems to be very well managed by [the senior staff member]. Overall we are very happy with the service my [family member] receives. She is particularly diligent, caring and hard‑working.”
Staff also described strong support from managers, commenting, “I have a very helpful and kind management team,” and that managers “looked out for us in order to protect us from stressful environments.” Another staff member said, “The management team are approachable, helpful and professional.”
Documents supported this, showing leaders were visible, responsive and committed to supporting staff to deliver safe, person centred care.
Freedom to speak up
The provider fostered a culture where staff felt able to raise concerns safely. Staff told us they felt listened to, including comments such as, “Management is very considerate and all ears when it comes to listening and talking.”
Documents also showed a clear whistleblowing policy was in place, supporting transparency and enabling staff to speak up without fear.
Workforce equality, diversity and inclusion
The provider promoted an inclusive culture where diversity was valued. Staff consistently said the organisation respected personal identity and difference. Comments included: “The organisation respects people from different backgrounds, including staff and service users.” Another staff member said the provider was “Very considerate and respectful towards religions and beliefs and promote equality.”
Documents supported this approach through a clear equality and diversity policy outlining expectations for fair and equitable treatment.
Governance, management and sustainability
The provider had systems for oversight, accountability and continuous monitoring of quality, supported by documented policies and audit processes. There was a clear system of accountability in place and staff were aware of their roles and responsibilities.
These governance processes ensured leaders had the information they needed to monitor performance and implement improvements.
Partnerships and communities
The provider worked collaboratively with external professionals, ensuring coordinated, joined‑up care. Documents showed clear communication with multidisciplinary teams and evidence that needs were reassessed and shared when people moved between services.
This supported continuity and helped ensure people received coordinated, safe care across services.
Learning, improvement and innovation
The provider demonstrated commitment to learning and continuous improvement. Documents showed a regular programme of audits, including medicines and records checks, with findings used to make improvements.
This systematic approach supported safe, effective practice and ensured learning was embedded across the service.
