During an assessment under our new approach
Date of assessment: 23 July to 12 august 2025. We visited the site on 23, 28 July and 8 August 2025. The service is a residential nursing home providing support to adults of all ages, some of whom were living with dementia. At the time of inspection, there were 35 people living at the service.
At our last inspection of this service under a previous provider the service was in breach of regulation in relation to keeping people safe, governance, staffing and failure to report notifiable events. Under the new current provider, improvements were found at this assessment and the provider was no longer in breach of these regulations.
The provider had a good learning culture and people could raise concerns. Managers investigated incidents thoroughly. People were protected and kept safe. The facilities and equipment met people’s needs but required a deep clean in some areas as well as repairs or replacements and re-decoration. There were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience. Managers made sure staff received training and regular appraisals to maintain high-quality care. Staff managed medicines well. People and relatives told us they were involved in planning any changes, but these were not recorded. Risks were managed but some records required reviewing and updating to ensure information was current and correct. There was a new manager in post who was applying to become registered. The manager and provider had a good oversight of quality. The new manager acted proactively to identify and address areas for development. They had created action plans to drive improvement of the quality of care.
