Our view of the service

This assessment was carried out between 7 July 2026 and 21 July 2026. We visited the office on 7 July and 21 July 2026.

The service provided personal care to people in their own homes. It provided some packages of domiciliary care but specialised in caring for people at the end of their lives. The service was able to support people during the day and overnight.

At the time of the assessment the number of people being supported ranged from 31 to 41 people.

The provider was also the registered manager and is referred to as the provider throughout the report.

The service was well led by a provider who was passionate about providing high quality care and support to people. At the time of the assessment the provider was in the process of strengthening their management team and improving and formalising their quality monitoring systems. These systems had not yet been fully embedded, but a consultancy company was supporting the process to make sure it was effective.

There was a stable staff team who had been safely recruited and received training appropriate for their roles. Staff felt well supported and valued which resulted in a low turnover of staff which helped to ensure consistency for people. Staff were passionate about their work and told us they were proud to work for One Love Home Care.

Staffing was well planned and flexible to ensure people received their care within the allocated time slot. There had been no missed visits.

Medicines and infection control was well managed which minimised risks to people.

The provider responded quickly to requests for support. They worked with other professionals to ensure people had control and were able to receive their end-of-life care in their chosen environment.

Assessments of needs were carried out, and personalised care plans were created to make sure people received care in accordance with their wishes. Staff said care plans gave them all the information they needed. Care plans were regularly reviewed and could be adapted at pace to meet people’s changing needs and medical conditions.
