Our current view of the service

Date of assessment 19 May to 10 June 2026. Bluebird Care (Rotherham) provides homecare support to people living in their own homes. At the time of our assessment there were 20 people receiving support.
The provider, managers and staff demonstrated a very strong commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care. People and their families played a central role in decisions and were encouraged to lead the planning and review of their care. They were supported to take positive, well-managed risks, enabling them to achieve meaningful goals and live more fulfilling lives.
There were systems in place to protect people from harm, including how medicines were managed. Staff were trained in how to recognise and respond to abuse and understood their responsibility to report any concerns to the management team. Care records were accurate, detailed and regularly updated to reflect people’s changing needs, preferences and aspirations.
Safe recruitment processes were followed, and appropriate checks had been undertaken, which made sure suitable staff were employed to care for people. Staff were supported to provide appropriate care to people because they were trained, supervised and appraised. There was an induction, training and development programme, which supported staff to gain relevant knowledge and skills.
The service was responsive to people's needs and staff listened to what staff said. People could be confident that any concerns or complaints would be listened to and dealt with.

People and relatives said without exception that staff and the management were extremely caring. One relative said, “Absolutely brilliant, the best experience we have had. Staff are very accommodating. Staff know what they are doing and [relative] is safe in their hands.” Another said, “I wholeheartedly recommend Bluebird Care (Rotherham). Their team of warm, friendly, respectful and positive carers who deliver person centred care allowing [relative] to do what they can safely, which supports [relatives] independent spirit.”
People consistently praised the competence and the attitude of the staff and were very happy with the quality of care. People said they were treated with dignity and their privacy respected. People told us staff were kind, caring and responsive to their individual needs and preferences. People felt staff were well trained and understood how to offer them support. People and relatives described staff as reliable, skilled and trustworthy. People told us staff were respectful and ensured their privacy was maintained. People and their families were involved in decisions about care and felt able to express their views. People told us staff were reliable and flexible and never missed their calls. One relative said, “They are excellent on times and let us know if anything changes. They always stay the full time and then they always ask if there is anything else they can do. They are very good.” People received regular and ongoing health checks and support to attend appointments. They were supported to eat and drink enough to meet their needs and to make informed choices about what they ate.
