Our view of the service
Date of assessment: 1 June 2026
Sahal Cares is a domiciliary care agency registered to provide personal care to adults living in their own homes.
The service was registered with CQC on 15 August 2023. This was the first assessment of the service. We have rated the service requires improvement.
We identified breaches of legal regulations relating to safe care and treatment, fit and proper persons employed and good governance. We have asked the provider to tell us the actions they are taking to make the required improvements.
The provider’s systems for recruiting new staff were not robust enough. The provider had not always assessed or planned for risks to people’s safety and wellbeing. Records were not always complete or detailed enough. Systems to monitor and improve the quality of the service had not always been effective at identifying where improvements were needed. We discussed these areas of concern with the registered manager. They agreed to review systems and make the improvements.
Whilst some records needed improving, people received good quality care. They were cared for by the same familiar care workers. Staff completed a range of training to help equip them for their roles. Staff arrived on time and understood how to safely care for people.
There were systems to monitor and respond to any accidents, incidents and complaints. The provider apologised when things went wrong and learnt from this.
People made decisions about their care and were offered choices. Staff supported people to be independent when they wanted. People experienced person-centred and safe care. People had the information they needed about the service.
The registered manager worked closely with other staff to provide care. Staff felt supported. The registered manager regularly contacted people and staff to ask for their feedback.
People's experience of this service
People had good experience using the service. They were happy with the care they received. People felt safe.
staff arrived on time and provided care people wanted.
People were able to make decisions about their care and staff respected these. People told us staff were kind, polite and caring.
People found the agency was responsive when they requested changes. They knew who to contact if they wished to discuss their care or had concerns. People had enough information about the service and were able to share their feedback and experiences.
Comments from people included, “I have nothing but good things to say about them” and “I am happy with everything.”
While the people we spoke to expressed that they were happy with their care, our assessment found elements of the service did not meet the expected standards.
