During an assessment under our new approach

Home Instead Warrington Lymm is a domiciliary care service providing support and personal care to people living in their own homes. They were providing a regulated activity to 60 people at the time of the assessment. We carried out the assessment between 26 May 2026 and 26 June 2026.

This assessment was carried out because the service’s previous rating is now of an age that requires a new assessment to ensure people continue to receive safe, effective and well‑led care in line with current regulatory standards.

The provider demonstrated a commitment to delivering person-centred care that achieved positive outcomes for people. Feedback from people, relatives and staff was overwhelmingly positive and described a service where people felt safe, respected, listened to and actively involved in decisions about their care. People consistently told us staff were kind, compassionate and encouraged their independence.

The provider had effective systems in place to identify and manage risks. We saw evidence of safeguarding concerns and medication errors being identified promptly and used as opportunities for learning and improvement. The provider maintained oversight through medication audits, accident and incident monitoring, quality assurance processes and regular reviews of peoples’ experience. There was evidence of partnership working with healthcare professionals to ensure people received timely support when their needs changed.

Care planning was detailed, personalised and centred around people's goals, preferences and life histories. The provider demonstrated a proactive approach to reviewing care and obtaining feedback. People told us they felt involved in planning their care and support was tailored around what mattered most to them.

There was considerable evidence of the provider going beyond people's personal care needs to improve their wellbeing and quality of life.

Staff spoke positively about the culture of the service, describing leaders as approachable and supportive. The provider demonstrated a commitment to learning, staff development and recognising good practice.
