Our view of the service
Home Instead Warrington Lymm is a domiciliary care service providing support and personal care to people living in their own homes. They were providing a regulated activity to 60 people at the time of the assessment. We carried out the assessment between 26 May 2026 and 26 June 2026.
This assessment was carried out because the service’s previous rating is now of an age that requires a new assessment to ensure people continue to receive safe, effective and well‑led care in line with current regulatory standards.
The provider demonstrated a commitment to delivering person-centred care that achieved positive outcomes for people. Feedback from people, relatives and staff was overwhelmingly positive and described a service where people felt safe, respected, listened to and actively involved in decisions about their care. People consistently told us staff were kind, compassionate and encouraged their independence.
The provider had effective systems in place to identify and manage risks. We saw evidence of safeguarding concerns and medication errors being identified promptly and used as opportunities for learning and improvement. The provider maintained oversight through medication audits, accident and incident monitoring, quality assurance processes and regular reviews of peoples’ experience. There was evidence of partnership working with healthcare professionals to ensure people received timely support when their needs changed.
Care planning was detailed, personalised and centred around people's goals, preferences and life histories. The provider demonstrated a proactive approach to reviewing care and obtaining feedback. People told us they felt involved in planning their care and support was tailored around what mattered most to them.
There was considerable evidence of the provider going beyond people's personal care needs to improve their wellbeing and quality of life.
Staff spoke positively about the culture of the service, describing leaders as approachable and supportive. The provider demonstrated a commitment to learning, staff development and recognising good practice.
People's experience of this service
People spoke very positively about their experiences of receiving care and support from Home Instead Warrington and Lymm. People said they felt safe, respected and well supported by staff who understood their individual needs and preferences. People described staff as kind, compassionate and reliable, and consistently told us they were treated with dignity and respect.
People told us they usually received support from regular staff and valued the continuity this provided. They spoke positively about the provider’s approach to introducing new staff members, explaining this helped them feel comfortable and build trusting relationships. One person described the care as, “Absolutely brilliant, ”while another said they felt, “Safe, secure and much happier.”
People told us they were involved in decisions about their care and support was delivered in a way that respected their independence. One person explained they felt their wishes and preferences had always been respected. Another person told us they decided how support was provided and staff worked around what was important to them.
People consistently described staff as encouraging and supportive. Several people told us staff motivated them to remain active and socially engaged. Examples included attendance at social groups, supporting people to go out into the community and helping them continue activities they enjoyed.
Families spoke highly of the support provided and described the provider as responsive and willing to go beyond expected care arrangements to achieve positive outcomes.
People knew how to raise concerns and told us they felt comfortable contacting the office if they needed support. They described office staff as approachable, responsive, and helpful. People's experiences reflected a service that was caring, person-centred and focused on helping people live independently, safely and in line with their individual wishes and goals.
