Thimbleby Court is a care home that provides support for older and younger adults living with dementia and physical disabilities. The service is registered to support 58 people, at the time of the inspection, 49 people were using the service.
Staff demonstrated a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care that was responsive to people’s individual needs and continuously focused on improving outcomes. People experienced care that was compassionate and tailored to what mattered most to them, with staff understanding people’s preferences and supporting them in ways that enhanced their daily lives.
Care was designed to promote independence with meaningful opportunities for people to make decisions and remain involved in their routines and activities. The service went beyond meeting basic care needs by supporting people to take part in experiences that reflected their interests and personal goals, contributing to increased confidence and overall wellbeing.
There was a strong emphasis on creating a positive and inclusive environment. The service worked creatively with volunteers, families and the wider community to provide opportunities for social interaction to reduce the risk of isolation and enhance people’s sense of belonging. Initiatives to support wellbeing, including physical activity and creative engagement were well embedded and contributed to improved quality of life.
Leadership was visible and effective, with a clear focus on continuous improvement and maintaining high standards of care. Systems were in place to monitor quality and respond to feedback, alongside ongoing innovation and forward planning to further enhance care delivery and involvement.
