We looked for evidence that the service involved people and treated them with compassion, kindness,dignity and respect.

This is the first inspection for this service since its registration with CQC. This key question has been rated as Good.

Kindness, compassion and dignity

Score: 3

The service always treated people with kindness, empathy and compassion and respected their privacy and dignity. Staff treated colleagues with kindness and respect.

Arrangements were in place to promote patients’ privacy. Patients could request a chaperone and one would be provided if needed,we saw a poster informing them of this in the waiting area. There was a recovery room,with sofas and a television, and anyone who had accompanied the patient to the clinic could wait in there too.

Treating people as individuals

The service treated people as individuals and made sure people’s care, support and treatment met people’s needs and preferences.

We observed staff greeting a patient in a friendly manner, asking after their wellbeing, and saw that they were treated with kindness and respect throughout the consultation and procedure.

Independence, choice and control

Score: 3

The service promoted people’s independence, so people knew their rights and had choice and control over their own care,treatment and wellbeing. Information provided to patients before and after treatment helped them to make informed decisions about their care and treatment, and to care for themselves afterwards.

Responding to people’s immediate needs

Score: 3

The service listened to and understood people’s needs, views and wishes. Staff responded to people’s needs in the moment and acted to minimise any discomfort, concern or distress.

The provider gave examples of how they made appropriate adjustments for patient’s. There was a process in place for patients to contact the service during the post-operative period.

Workforce wellbeing and enablement

The service cared about and promoted the wellbeing of their staff and supported and enabled staff to always deliver person-centred care.

Leaders recognised the wellbeing needs of staff and supported them. We saw that a culture of good team-working was established.
