Our view of the service

Date of Assessment: 10 July to 23 July 2026. We visited the service on 14 July 2026. This service is a domiciliary care service, registered to provide personal care for people living in their own homes in the community. They provide support to older people and younger adults with a range of different needs including dementia, sensory impairments, physical disabilities or mental health conditions.

At the time of the assessment 35 people were using the service, 10 of which were receiving the regulated activity of personal care. Not everyone who uses a domiciliary care service receives personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care.

This is the first assessment for this provider under its new registration. At this assessment we reviewed all 5 key questions and all the quality statements. We rated the provider overall as good.

The service was in the process of transitioning to electronic care recording from a paper-based system. We found that some care records would benefit from additional detail to further support staff in delivering safe, consistent, and effective care. This related to record-keeping only, and there was no evidence of any impact on people receiving support. We noted that improvements had already been made to the records transferred to the new system, demonstrating prompt action to address this area.

There were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience. Staff received appropriate training, and the management team supported staff through regular supervisions and appraisals. Recruitment systems were in place, but these needed to be reviewed to fully ensure the safe recruitment of staff. This was actioned immediately by the provider.

The provider had processes to safeguard people from the risk of abuse. Staff were knowledgeable about safeguarding and knew how to act on concerns. Lessons were learnt from incidents and shared with staff.

The service was working within the principles of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA) and staff were clear in their conversations with us of their responsibilities to seek consent.

People were treated with kindness and compassion. Staff protected their privacy and dignity. They treated people as individuals and supported their choices.

The registered manager was visible, knowledgeable and supportive, helping staff develop in their roles. Staff told us they felt supported and were happy working for Forget Me Not Care Providers Ltd.

Governance systems were in place and there were a range of audits, analysis and checks within the service. This supported safety and quality.
