During an assessment under our new approach
Date of assessment: 27 March– 27 April 2026. 71 Rowan Crescent is a homecare agency supporting young people. At the time of our assessment, there was one young person using the service. This was our first assessment of this service.
Risks to safety were identified, assessed and managed, including environmental risks, medicines management and infection prevention and control. There were clear systems for recording and reviewing accidents and incidents, and staff understood their responsibilities in relation to safeguarding. However, the manager acknowledged a lack of clarity around regulatory requirements, which had resulted in police incidents not being notified to the CQC where required. This was identified as an area for improvement.
The young person received the right support from a stable staff team with the appropriate skills, training and supervision to meet their individual needs. Staff worked closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care and effective information sharing, and external professionals provided positive feedback about joint working. Care was delivered with kindness, respect and dignity, and the young person was supported to be involved in decisions about their care, develop independence and improve their health and wellbeing.
Leaders promoted a positive, open culture, where staff felt supported, listened to and confident to raise concerns. Governance and audit arrangements were used to monitor care and identify learning and improvement. The service demonstrated a caring and person‑centred approach, with leadership and staff committed to delivering the right care and support for the young person.
