During an assessment under our new approach

Date of Assessment: 2 March to 13 April 2026. Aspirations Staffordshire is a supported living service providing support to people with learning disabilities or autistic people. At the time of our assessment the service supported 10 people.

We inspected the service because we had received concerns about the quality of care people received and the service had not been rated since their registration.

We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed autistic people and people with a learning disability respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.

People’s safety was supported through a positive and open culture where staff felt confident to raise concerns and trusted the management team to act. Risks were identified and managed through personalised care plans and regular reviews, with good partnership working to maintain continuity when needs changed. Staff understood safeguarding procedures, incidents were reported appropriately, and learning was shared to improve practice. Staffing levels, training, medicines management, infection prevention and environmental safety all supported people to remain safe.

People’s care was based on thorough assessments, regular reviews and a clear understanding of individual needs, preferences and communication styles. Care followed current guidance and involved people, relatives and professionals to support positive outcomes. Staff worked effectively with health and social care partners, and feedback confirmed people’s needs were well understood. People were supported to maintain health, independence and wellbeing, with some feedback identifying opportunities to further promote healthy lifestyle choices. Consent, choice and control were respected.

People were treated with kindness, compassion and respect, and privacy and dignity were upheld. Staff knew people well and delivered person‑centred care reflecting individual backgrounds, preferences and culture. Staff responded promptly to needs, and staff wellbeing was promoted through training, supervision and supportive management arrangements.

The service was well led by compassionate and inclusive leaders who promoted a clear vision based on openness, equality and respect. Staff described managers as approachable, supportive and responsive, creating a culture where people felt confident to speak up and share feedback. Governance arrangements supported oversight of quality and risk. Partnership working, continuous learning, co‑production and inclusive practice contributed to positive outcomes and high‑quality, person‑centred care.
