During an assessment under our new approach
Date of assessment: 28 May 2025 to 3 July 2025. Heatherton House Care Home is a residential care home for up to 66 people. At the time of this assessment 41 people were using the service. The service provides care to younger adults, older people, some of whom are living with dementia and/or physical disabilities.
People’s needs were assessed and person-centred care records were in place. Care plans and risk assessments reflected people’s assessed needs and helped staff to support people. Staff knew people well and treated them as individuals. People were treated with kindness and compassion. People’s independence, dignity and privacy was respected. People received their medicines as prescribed. People had access to health care services.
The management team were open and approachable. Staff received training and support from leaders, helping them to provide safe and effective care. Staff worked well as a team and had opportunities to give their views in team meetings and supervisions. There were effective systems in place to monitor the quality and safety of the service and actions were taken as needed.
