Treating people as individuals

Score: 3

People were treated by the provider as individuals, and they made sure people’s care, support and treatment met their needs and preferences. They took account of people’s strengths, abilities, aspirations, culture and unique backgrounds and protected characteristics. People were enabled by the provider’s processes and systems to be recognised as unique, and care was delivered accordingly. The provider cared about and promoted the wellbeing of their staff, and supported and enabled staff to always deliver person-centred care. Staff told us they were happy working for the service, and received good support from the management team, who operated an open door policy, and made themselves available. There were effective systems, counter checks, and policies and procedures in place to promote and enable staff well-being, which were accessible to them.
