Date of assessment: 18 November to 25 November 2025
Suite B, 1st Floor Shaw House 2-3 Tunsgate Guildford Surrey GU1 3QT is a care at home service providing support to adults of all ages, including people who may be living with dementia, have mental health needs or physical disabilities. This was the first assessment since the service had registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). This responsive assessment was carried out as we had received concerns about aspects of the safety and management of the service.
This assessment was announced. At the start of our assessment, the service was providing the regulated activity of personal care to 24 people. We found 5 breaches of legal regulations in relation to safe care and treatment, safeguarding, good governance, staffing and fit and proper persons employed. Staff were not always recruited safely. The provider’s internal monitoring systems failed to identify all the concerns we found during this assessment and robust action had therefore not been taken to make improvements. Staff were trained in safeguarding, however failed to demonstrate they took action without delay to escalate concerns to appropriate agencies and complete referrals . The registered manager and provider were motivated to improve the service and started addressing these shortfalls during the inspection.
