During an assessment under our new approach

Leggyfield Court is an extra‑care service supporting older people, younger adults, people living with mental health conditions, sensory impairments and those living with dementia and physical disabilities. Extra care housing at Leggyfield Court is purpose-built accommodation in a shared building. The accommodation is rented or owned and is the occupant's own home.
During our assessment we found risks to people were not always identified or managed at the point of admission, meaning staff did not always have the information needed to deliver safe, consistent care. The provider was in breach of the legal regulation relating to governance. We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this assessment.
However, we observed staff interacting with people professionally and warmly, demonstrating a commitment to person-centred care and individual dignity. Staff had received the training needed to fulfil their roles and described the registered manager and senior staff as approachable and felt confident raising concerns as well as giving feedback.
The registered manager and staff had created an open, inclusive, and positive culture that embraced their diverse backgrounds to promote person-centred care, with staff even sharing their heritage through cultural dance shows to build strong professional relationships with the people they supported.
