During an assessment under our new approach

Autism Care Community Services (Lincolnshire) is a service providing care and support to people with a learning disability and autistic people in their own homes, in a supported living setting. We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.
Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects services where people receive the regulated activity of personal care. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. At the time of this inspection, 6 people were receiving personal care.
People received support that was person-centred and protected their rights. Staff understood safeguarding procedures and followed clear processes for reporting and managing concerns.
Risk management was effective. People’s needs were thoroughly assessed and routinely reviewed. Support plans reflected people’s needs, wishes and goals including communication, sensory and personal preferences.
People’s independence was promoted and they took part in daily living tasks and community activities that reflected their interests. Staff supported people to communicate in ways that worked for them and recognised when people were best able to make decisions. Safe staff recruitment processes were followed. Staff training was well matched to people’s needs.
Effective governance systems were in place, with regular audits and action plans to improve quality. Learning from audits was shared with staff to support continuous improvement across the service.
