The service understood the diverse health and care needs of patients, care was joined-up, flexible and supported choice and continuity. When booking appointments patients were able to select practices that suited their individual needs

The service supplied appropriate, accurate and up-to-date information in formats that were tailored to individual needs.

The service had access to interpreter services, including British Sign Language. Information provided by the service met the Accessible Information Standard. The service’s website was available in 136 languages.

Listening to and involving people

The service made it easy for patients to share feedback and ideas, or raise complaints about their care,treatment and support. They involved patients in decisions about their care and told them what had changed as a result.

We saw complaints were managed in line with the service’s policy. Learning from complaints was evident and staff were able to identify changes made as a result of patient feedback, including complaints. Recent survey data showed high levels of satisfaction.

Equity in access

The service made sure that patients could access the care, support and treatment they needed when they needed it. Using a Single Point of Access Clinical Triage service, patients were quickly referred to the most appropriate service.

Patients were able to access the service to suit their need with flexible appointment times being offered.

Where patients had particular needs, the service was able to adjust to ensure they could attend to this.

Equity in experiences and outcomes

Staff and leaders actively listened to information about patients who are most likely to experience inequality in experience or outcomes and tailored their care,support and treatment in response to this.

Feedback provided by patients using the service was positive. Staff treated patients equally and without discrimination. Staff understood the importance of providing an inclusive approach to care and made adjustments to support equity in patient’s experience and outcomes. Staff used appropriate systems to capture and review feedback from patients using the service.

Patients were able to access the service to suit their need with flexible appointment times being offered, including weekends and evenings.
