Date of Assessment: 13 February 2026.Primary Eyecare Services Limited is an independent health service. They are a specialist-led community-based eye care provider at scale which delivers a range of specialist eyecare services to NHS patients referred to them from integrated care boards (ICB) across England. Care is delivered to persons of all ages. The service is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to deliver treatment of disease, disorder or injury.
We saw patients and those working at the service were protected and kept safe. Facilities and equipment met the needs of patients. Those who delivered the clinical care at the service had the required skills, qualifications and experience, and we saw that they had received additional training which enabled them to deliver effective care. The service fully assessed need and involved patients in discussions and decisions about their treatment. Care was based on latest evidence and good practice. If needed, the service worked with other health professionals to achieve the best outcomes for patients. We heard that patients were treated with kindness and compassion. There was a culture of continuous improvement, and a drive to improve patient outcomes.
