In records examined we saw that every child’s care, support and treatment reflected their individual needs. We saw comprehensive care plans and risk assessments that were regularly updated and reviewed as well as being translated fully into staff’s interactions with children which is then comprehensively documented throughout the day.

Although we saw some inconsistency in medicines charts, children’s care plans and risk assessments largely reflected thorough assessment of individual need. Children’s health, care, wellbeing and communication needs were fully assessed involving relevant family members and professionals. Changes in a child’s need and/or deterioration of health needs were responded to in a timely way ensuring care and treatment focused on the best outcome for each child.
