Responding to people’s immediate needs
As noted, some documentation required strengthening, however, care plans were comprehensive. This ensured staff working with children understood their individual needs. Staff were compassionate and responsive to changes in a child’s condition, working to ensure children’s lives are enriched through many activities as well as understanding their medical and physical needs to respond to any changes or discomfort children experience. We saw clear evidence of staff recognising when children’s health deteriorated and following the appropriate protocols to ensure the right care was optimised, including calling for emergency services.
