Well-led
We assessed two quality statements from this key question. Staff in the children’s homes were suitably trained and supported to perform their roles. Staff told us about how they learn and implement learning when policies change. We saw clear lines of governance and investigation of incidents with appropriate actions and learning being implemented.

Governance, management and sustainability
Leaders and managers supported staff, and staff were clear on their individual roles and responsibilities. Managers met with staff formally and informally, and through staff meetings regularly for line management, supervision and updates.
Issues of concern around arrangements for children with changing health needs were being followed and staff were aware of processes and when to escalate concerns or ask for support from the clinical managers overnight.
Handovers and team meetings were happening regularly with clear communication evident. Staff received governance messages from the organisation.
There were improved and strengthened risk management processes. Leaders encouraged staff to report all incidents openly and transparently. Incidents and risks were overseen regularly in a multi-disciplinary forum. We saw actions and learning from a number of incidents that were reviewed. Learning from incidents was disseminated in different ways through training, bulletins, policy of the month and directly with staff.
