We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 11 March 2026.
We found the practice had met all regulations.
The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks, including infection prevention and control.
Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.
There was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation, the practice should ensure these are followed consistently.
The practice should improve the protocols and procedures for the use of X-ray equipment in compliance with The Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017 and Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2017.
The practice is in South Kirkby, Pontefract and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
The practice is in Churchview Health Centre on the ground floor. There was a car park including dedicated parking for disabled people, automatic door entry and step-free access to the practice.
The practice had 2 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 14 staff, of which there were 6 dentists, 4 dental nurses (including 1 trainee), 2 dental therapists, 1 receptionist and the practice manager. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 1 dentist, 2 dental nurses, 1 dental therapist, the receptionist and the practice manager
