During an assessment under our new approach
Date of on-site assessment 20 May 2026 to 29 May 2026.
Eastern Lodge is a care home registered to provide personal care for up to 6 people. At the time of our assessment, there were 6 people living at the service but only 2 people receiving the regulated activity of ‘personal care’. CQC only inspects the service being received by people provided with 'personal care’; such as help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided.
Staff were trained, skilled and recruited safely. Staff showed competence in their roles and kindness towards people, relatives and each other. The governance and culture of the service was good.
Medicines were stored and managed safely and administered by trained staff. The service was safe, clean and well maintained.
Staff respected people’s wishes, upheld their dignity and ensured consent was respected.
People were not unlawfully restricted, processes at the service ensured appropriate documentation was in place if people lived with restrictions which were imposed to ensure their safety.
