During an assessment under our new approach
We carried out a comprehensive inspection of Clear Ears Clinic Ltd to provide a rating to the service. Clear Ears Clinic is an independent health service. They are a private micro-suction ear wax removal clinic. The service includes a consultation and assessment of needs before ear wax removal.
The service is provided by one registered children’s nurse who is the registered manager and the sole clinician and supported by a director. The registered manager is a person who is registered with the Care Quality Commission to manage the service. The service is available to children from the age of 6 to adult patients.
The service does not employ any other staff. For this report, we will refer to the nominated individual as ‘staff'.
The service maintained a safe environment where patients were encouraged to speak up and share their views. Patients were involved in assessments of their needs. Care delivery followed the latest evidence-based practices and clinical guidelines. Staff treated patients with kindness and compassion. They respected people’s privacy and dignity. The service was easy to use for patients. Appointment systems were simple, and staff could change appointment times to fit a patient's needs. The service fostered a vision and culture built on trust, listening, and learning.
