During an assessment under our new approach
Aranlaw House Care Home is registered to provide accommodation and personal care for up to 47 people. At the time of the inspection, the service was supporting 45 people, including people with a learning disability and people living with dementia.
The inspection took place between 2 June and 9 June 2025.
This is the first inspection for this newly registered service. We therefore inspected all quality statements under the key questions of safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.
The service had systems in place to meet people’s needs safely. Partnership working with external agencies contributed to effective care. People’s rights were respected, and we observed people being treated with dignity and respect. People, relatives and visiting health and social care professionals had confidence in the management of the service. A health and social care professional said, “Aranlaw House Care Home is usually one of our ‘go to’ care homes, particularly for people with complex dementia.”
We were assured people were safe. People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests; the policies and systems in the service supported this practice.
