During an assessment under our new approach
Date of assessment: 03 April 2025 to 15 April 2025. Vesey Road is a care home providing accommodation and personal care. It is registered to provide care for up to 8 people. At the time of our assessment there were 7 people living at the home. Some people living at Vesey Road have a learning disability and/or Autism.
We assessed the service against all the quality statements in all 5 key questions. This was because this was an unrated service registered on 06 July 2023.
The provider had governance systems in place to monitor and improve the quality of the service; however, these were not always effective or timely regarding the oversight of risk, and some safety aspects of the environment.
We inspected the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether Vesey Road guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.
Care was person-centred, the provider’s policy and staff practices placed people’s right to make decisions and be in control of their care at the heart of the service.
There were enough staff to support people and meet their needs. Recruitment practice was safe. Staff worked with partners to help people achieve positive outcomes. People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives.
