Caring – this means we looked for evidence that the provider involved people and treated them with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect. At our previous inspection we rated this key question good. At this assessment the rating has remained good. This meant people were supported and treated with dignity and respect; and involved as partners in their care.

Staff treated people with kindness and compassion and respected their privacy and dignity. We observed staff listened to people and responded with kindness and patience. A person said, “The staff are excellent, always chat, very friendly and encourage me to walk.” Another person commented, “I am independent with a shower, but the staff are there if I need them, if I need them, they are to hand.” A relative said, “The staff are all really caring and kind.” Most professionals who worked with the service told us they were treated with kindness and respect. However, some told us they had not always been treated respectfully by some staff members. The provider assured us action had been taken to address this, and they were committed to working positively with professionals. A professional said, “I have found the registered manager, to be very approachable and engagement has been excellent.”
