Our view of the service
The date of assessment: 16-17 June 2026. This was a planned assessment of the service due to aged inspection ratings.
Hendon Hospital is operated by Circle Health Group (CHG) Limited, which is the UK’s largest independent hospital group with 54 hospitals. There were 17 inpatient bedrooms on Dr Bruce Ward. Each single room had ensuite facilities with either a bath or shower. There is access to on-site diagnostics and physiotherapy. Medical related care included conditions related to the heart and blood health; skin, liver, and digestive health.
The hospital did not treat people aged under 18. However, staff received training on child protection for the rare occasions that patients brought children into the service.
People's experience of this service
During our assessment we did not speak to any patients receiving medical related treatment or care, as there were no patients in this category at the time. We looked at the patient satisfaction survey to understand how patients viewed the service. Feedback from patients who used the service was consistently positive and demonstrated high levels of satisfaction with the care and support they received. Survey results showed patients felt they were treated with respect and dignity. Patients felt involved in decisions about their care, and they could speak to a member of staff about any worries or concerns. Patients felt confident in the care they received and reported positive interactions with clinical staff.
