This assessment commenced on 29 April 2025 and was completed on 6 May 2025. Oakwood Hall is a purpose-built residential service which provides support for people with complex mental health needs who are often excluded from other services. Placements are for 5 years, with the aim of supporting people to live back in the community. Oakwood Hall can accommodate up to 12 people, which includes one respite bed. At the time of our inspection there were 10 people living at the home and one person using respite care.
There was a positive culture and atmosphere. Oakwood Hall had a large back garden, and people used this.
Staff were kind and caring and keen to promote people’s independence. Support plans were person centred. Risk assessments were in place and regularly reviewed.
Staff recruitment processes ensured staff were suitable for their roles and supported people safely. Staff had a good understanding of safeguarding processes and respected people’s wishes. Training was in place for staff to ensure they were able to support people according to their individual needs.
