Our view of the service

Date of assessment: 28 April to 27 May 2025. This service is registered to support people with physical disabilities, autistic people and people with a learning disability. ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ (RSRCRC) is the guidance CQC follows to make assessments and judgements about services supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people and providers must have regard to it. We have assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture (RSRCRC)’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. The principles of RSRCRC had started to be embedded into the service. There were now systems and processes to ensure that safeguarding and incidents were recorded and reported appropriately. Systems to review and improve the quality of the service were still newly implemented and therefore still needed time to be successfully embedded.

At our last assessment, the provider was in breach of legal regulations in relation to person centered care, dignity and respect, safeguarding, safe care and treatment, staffing, consent, fit and proper persons employed and governance. Improvements were found at this assessment and the provider was no longer in breach of these regulations. This service has been in Special Measures since 13 November 2024. The provider demonstrated improvements that have been made. The service is no longer rated as inadequate overall or in any of the key questions. Therefore, this service is no longer in Special Measures.

People's experience of this service

Since our last assessment the provider had implemented a number of improvements within the service, which had a positive impact on people. This included making sure there was improved guidance for staff to follow and reviewing people’s care needs. People and their relatives told us they had seen improvements. One relative told us, “They’re the best agency we have had. Its much easier to communicate with them, they are the best for communication.” Restrictions that were previously placed on people had been removed, and people were supported to live independent lives with full choice and control.
