Caring
Caring – this means we looked for evidence that the provider involved people and treated them with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect. At our last assessment we rated this key question good. At this assessment the rating has remained good. This meant people were generally supported and treated with dignity and respect; and involved as partners in their care.
This service scored 70 (out of 100) for this area. Find out what we look at when we assess this area and How we calculate these scores.
Kindness, compassion and dignity
The provider did not always treat people with kindness, empathy and compassion, or respect their privacy and dignity. Whilst we found people were always treated with kindness in 3 supported living services, we identified concerns in the way staff spoke about people in 1 service. When we informed the provider, they had already identified some of the concerns and took immediate action to address comments made by staff about a person who lived at the service. We found the provider took our concerns seriously and actively addressed these by taking immediate positive steps. There was further time required to ensure this was fully embedded in the service.
