Governance, management and sustainability
There had been recent some changes to the management structure since our last visit to the service. An agency manager had been appointed with oversight from the area manager. The provider had also employed a consultancy agency to support the service to make improvements. The consultancy staff were in the process of interviewing all staff members to gather their feedback on any concerns or issues they may have, and what additional support they may need to improve the care they deliver to people living at the service. A staff meeting had been conducted on 30th May 2025 to discuss the findings of our last inspection and what changes were being made to make improvements, 9 staff out of 62 attended. We asked the area manager how the information was shared with the remaining staff team members. They told us, they were in the process of changing their internal systems to ensure staff had access to the minuted notes. Once the staff had read the notes, this could be evidenced on the providers system. There had been 5 complaints since our last visit, we found these had been acknowledged and responded to appropriately. The area manager had started devising flow charts for safeguarding and falls processes to enable staff to have a snapshot of what processes should be followed in the event of an accident or incident. Despite our findings of improvements made with the services overall governance, more time is needed to ensure these processes continue to be embedded and highlight concerns when a new manager is appointed and the consultancy team are no longer needed.
