The Elms is a care home that provides accommodation, care and support for up to 4 adults, some of whom may be living with a learning disability and/or autism. At the time of the inspection 4 people were living at the service. During the inspection we assessed all the quality statements under the key questions of safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led. The inspection took place between 27 November and 03 December 2025. We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. Staff understood the safeguarding procedures in place and felt confident any concerns would be acted on by the registered manager. Staff told us they felt people using the service were safe. Staff were suitably trained and experienced to provide care, and safe recruitment checks were completed. Risks to people were identified and effectively managed. There were enough staff to support people safely. Staff had a good understanding of the people they supported and showed dignity and respect, considering individual needs and preferences. A staff member told us, “This is like a family home, everyone enjoys living here.’’ Another staff member commented, “It is a good atmosphere, and we do have a laugh. We work well as a team; we are all happy.’’
