Yews Hill / North Rise is a care home providing accommodation and personal care for up to 17 people living with learning disabilities or autism. At the time of our assessment there were 14 people living at the service.
We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.
The assessment was carried out in line with CQC’s assessment priorities, age of rating. The assessment commenced on 07 April 2026 and was completed on 14 April 2026. Site visits took place on both dates and included out of hours visits.
The service was clean, welcoming and homely. People were supported by skilled staff, who knew them well. There were enough staff to meet people’s needs without delay. Quality assurance processes were operated effectively and the registered manager provided robust oversight of the service to support effective monitoring and improvement. The whole team were committed to providing safe, good quality, person-centred care. Staff felt supported and valued by a registered manager who was open, honest and inclusive in their approach. However, some improvements were needed in relation to the management of medicines.
