Our current view of the service

Good

Updated 6 February 2024

An assessment has been undertaken of a specialist service that is used by autistic people or people with a learning disability. We expect health and social care providers to guarantee autistic people and people with a learning disability respect, equality, dignity, choices and independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ is the guidance CQC follows to make assessments and judgements about services supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people and providers must have regard to it. We visited the service on 3 occasions between 14 February 2024 and 22 February 2024. We reviewed records during our visit and offsite. We spoke with the registered manager, staff and spent time with people who lived there. Our overall judgement of the quality statements reviewed in this assessment confirmed people received good quality care and support. The model of care and setting maximised people’s choice, control and independence. Care was person-centred and promoted people’s dignity, privacy and human rights. The ethos, values and attitudes of leaders and care staff ensured people using services led confident, inclusive and empowered lives.

People's experience of the service

Updated 6 February 2024

People received good care and support. People who lived in the service were unable to share their views verbally with us and had other methods of communicating. We visited the service on 3 occasions so were able to observe people as they spent time with staff. We saw people were comfortable interacting with staff who knew them well. Staff were observed to be skilled in supporting people in the way they preferred.
