Condition of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity
Within 28 days of this condition taking effect, the registered provider must ensure robust oversight and governance processes, which include monthly audits in relation to (but not limited to) the following:
a) Monitoring of service users daily care tasks to ensure service users receive their daily care interventions as described in their care plans.
b) Medicines administration and management to ensure service users are consistently protected from the risks associated with medicines and topical creams.
c) Kitchen and food audits to ensure service users are only consuming food within the advised use by date.
d) Daily handover, walkaround and flash meeting documentation is reviewed and updated and to ensure information regarding service users changing needs is being communicated effectively within the staff team.
e) A review of planned meals for service users who require modified diets, to ensure they are being offered meals in line with their dietary needs.
Evidence to support the action the provider has taken can be requested by the Care Quality Commission at any time, to be supplied within 5 working days of a request, to verify action has been taken in a timely manner and to ensure service users receive safe and effective care

The registered provider must only accommodate a maximum of 46 service users at Appletrees Care Home.
