During an assessment under our new approach

Visiting Angels – South Middlesex is a care at home service. It provides personal care to people living in their own homes. At the time of our assessment, 28 people were receiving support with personal care. The service is registered to provide support for adults. This assessment was carried out due to the length of time since the previous assessment on 22 June 2022.
People’s risks associated with their health and wellbeing were identified during the initial needs assessment. Risk management plans were developed to provide staff with guidance of how to support the person. The provider had a robust recruitment process. Medicines were administered safely and as prescribed. Staff completed training on medicine administration and had their competency assessed. The provider had processes for investigating incidents, accidents, safeguarding and complaints with lessons learned for improvements shared with staff. The provider had a range of audits and quality assurance checks which were completed to monitor the care being provided.
People’s ability to make informed choices about their care was assessed and appropriate support provided. Staff completed a range of training to develop their skills and knowledge when providing care.
