Our current view of the service

Good

Updated 20 May 2025

Date of inspection: 29 May 2025 to 3 June 2025. The inspection was carried out because we had received concerns about peoples' safety in relation to falls. The service is a residential home providing accommodation for persons who require personal care, some of whom are living with dementia. During this assessment we looked at 5 quality statements. The service was providing regulated activity to 74 people at the time of the assessment.

We found staff were knowledgeable about people’s risks. However, some records to guide staff on how to support people safely and effectively were not always accurate. Following our feedback the risk assessments were immediately updated.

Staff knew people well and there were sufficient staff deployed, and staff were suitably recruited and trained. Staff were seen to be kind and respectful to people.

The provider had effective systems in place to ensure people were safeguarded from potential harm and abuse.

The provider promoted people’s independence and staff understood the importance of supporting people to maintain their independence. Staff knew about people’s health needs, personal preferences and ensured people’s consent was always received and choices given.
