During an assessment under our new approach

Date of assessment: 16 to 26 March 2026. Lexrae Support Ltd is a supported living service providing people with a learning disability and autistic people with care and support in their own homes. We assessed the service against the Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture guidance to determine whether autistic people and people with a learning disability were supported with dignity, equality, choice, independence, and appropriate access to their community.

The assessment included discussions with people using the service, their relatives, staff, and the registered manager. We also obtained information from the Local Authority prior to our site visit.

The service demonstrated a strong commitment to being diverse, inclusive, and highly person-centred, with a clear and consistent focus on supporting people to live lifestyles of their choosing and to have positive, meaningful life experiences.

Leaders and staff had taken proactive and reflective action to eradicate the impact of past poor experiences before using the service. This ensured people were listened to, empowered, and actively involved in decisions about their care and support. This approach gave people a strong and authentic voice in shaping their lives.

We saw exceptional practice across the service, which enabled people to experience fulfilling lives and meaningful opportunities aligned with their interests, aspirations, and individual needs. People were supported to make genuine choices, including choosing who worked with them, ensuring relationships reflected their preferences, needs, and personal values.

These approaches contributed to a service culture that was compassionate, empowering, and aspirational.

Robust governance systems and practices were in place to promote quality, consistency, and continuous improvement across the service. Spot checks were undertaken to monitor practices, ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and gather people’s views about the running of the service.

Staff were supported through frequent one‑to‑one supervision sessions, which provided opportunities for guidance, reflection, performance review, and professional development.
