Children and young people

This survey looked at the experiences of 33,179 children and young people who were admitted in November and December 2018.

Between February and June 2019, a questionnaire was sent to a maximum of 1250 recent patients at each trust.

Responses were received from 233 patients at The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.

Urgent and Emergency Care – Type 3 service

This survey looked at the experiences of people who attended type 1 or type 3 urgent & emergency care (UEC) services.

Type 1 services include A&E departments, and may also be known as casualty or emergency departments.

Type 3 services include urgent care centres, urgent treatment centres and minor injury units. The survey only includes services directly run by an acute NHS trust.

These are the results for type 3 services.
All trusts also have results for type 1 services. See the results for type 1 services.

Between October 2018 and March 2019, a questionnaire was sent to 420 people who had used Type 3 services at each eligible trust.

Responses were received from 82 people at The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.

Urgent and Emergency Care – Type 1 service

This survey looked at the experiences of people who attended type 1 or type 3 urgent & emergency care (UEC) services.

Type 1 services include A&E departments, and may also be known as casualty or emergency departments.

Type 3 services include urgent care centres, urgent treatment centres and minor injury units. The survey only includes services directly run by an acute NHS trust.

These are the results for Type 1 services.

Between October 2018 and March 2019, a questionnaire was sent to:

  • 1,250 people who had used Type 1 services at trusts with no eligible Type 3 services
  • 950 people who had used Type 1 services at trusts who also had eligible Type 3 services

Responses were received from 209 people at The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.

Inpatient

This survey looked at the experiences of 76,668 people who were discharged from an NHS acute hospital in July 2018.

Between August 2018 and January 2019, a questionnaire was sent to 1,250 recent inpatients at each trust.

Responses were received from 384 patients at The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.

Maternity

We use national surveys to find out about the experiences of people who receive care and treatment.

During the summer of 2018, a questionnaire was sent to all women who gave birth in February 2018 (and January 2018 at smaller trusts).

Responses were received from 152 patients at The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.

Outpatient

We use national surveys to find out about the experience of patients when receiving care and treatment from healthcare organisations. Between June and October 2011, a questionnaire was sent to patients who had recently attended an outpatient appointment for each NHS trust in England.

Responses were received from 446 patients at The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.
