The Registered Provider must ensure that the regulated activity personal care is managed by an individual who is registered as a manager in respect of the activity, as carried on at or from the location Otterhayes.

Accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care

Condition of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity

1. The Registered Provider must ensure regular audits are completed in relation to care plans and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement. Any improvements identified must be clearly recorded in an action plan.

2. The Registered Provider must ensure regular audits are completed in relation to staff training. These should provide assurances that a) Staff are trained in subjects that the Registered Provider has deemed as mandatory b) staff are trained in subjects applicable to service users individual needs. Any areas identified for improvement must be clearly recorded in an action plan.

3. The registered provider must identify an effective system that ensures there are sufficient numbers of staff deployed to meet service users’ needs safely. Any areas for improvement must be clearly recorded and in an action plan.

4. The Registered Provider must ensure regular audits of the provision of social activities are carried out, to ensure social activities are tailored to service users’ individual needs. Any areas for improvement must be clearly recorded and form part of an action plan.

5. The Registered Provider must regularly audit incidents to ensure they have been recorded, managed effectively and notified to the Commission and, if necessary to appropriate statutory bodies. Any areas for improvement must be recorded and form part of an action plan.

6. The Registered Provider must send to the Care Quality Commission a monthly report on the first working day of each calendar month detailing the audits carried out, the findings and actions taken for points 1-5 above. The report must include who is responsible for the actions and include timescales to be met. The first report must be sent to the Care Quality Commission on 1 January 2020.
