All Inspections

During a routine inspection

People were supported in promoting their independence and community involvement and were supported to access a range of activities in their local community. Information for people about the service and how to express their views was made available in easy read and pictorial formats. This included information about making complaints and suggestions about the service.

We saw from care records a comprehensive assessment was undertaken for each person and detailed care plans were in place. Family members we spoke with were happy with the care and support their relative received. They commented their relative had, 'Made progress and they now do their own laundry. Staff are nice.'

Staff had a good knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and how to keep people safe. We saw staff had completed safeguarding training.

We saw staff had opportunities for further development and gave examples of specialist training related to people they cared for. They also had the opportunity to work towards further qualifications; for example National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) and a team leader award.

We saw the provider undertook a range of audits to improve the quality of the service provided and this included a review of a random sample of care plans.
