Chalkhill
We served a warning notice on Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust on 9 October 2025 for failing to ensure that the care and treatment of patients who used the child and adolescent inpatient mental health services received care that was consistently safe, appropriate, met their needs, and protected them from avoidable harm. There was not always enough staff with the skills and competence to meet the needs of patients. The governance systems in place were not robust and did not provide adequate oversight and ongoing monitoring of the quality and safety of care provided at Chalkhill at Princess Royal Hospital.
