Runcorn Road Dialysis Unit is a haemodialysis service for people in the local community. It provides dialysis both on site or to some people in their own home. See below for our report on the service which we assessed on site on 10 April 2025. This was the first assessment of this service and it has been rated outstanding.

We undertook an assessment of Runcorn Road Dialysis Unit on 10 April 2025.
The service delivers haemodialysis for approximately 110 people and had provided 15,786 dialysis sessions between March 2024 and April 2025. The service provided morning and afternoon dialysis sessions 6 days a week, with an additional 3 twilight sessions each week. There were 26 dialysis bays on the unit.
In addition, there was a home haemodialysis service where 29 people were supported to undertake their own dialysis at home. There was also a home haemodialysis unit within the Runcorn Road service where people receiving home haemodialysis could receive additional support and training. There was 1 patient training to do their own dialysis at home at the time of our assessment.
We carried out the on-site assessment on 10 April 2025. The assessment was undertaken as this service had not been inspected before. We rated Runcorn Road Dialysis Unit as outstanding overall and in caring and responsive. We rated them as good in safe, effective, and well led.
