During a routine inspection

This planned review of Trowbridge Hospital focussed upon maternity services only. Patients and their partners told us they had received good care and support. One patient said of the service: "I can't fault it." And of the staff: "I can't sing their praises highly enough." Another said staff had "been brilliant all the way through." Another family told us the care was "really good. Staff are kind and friendly, but really professional too."

We found the care records were comprehensive, in good condition, legible and important information had been clearly recorded. The hospital was clean and well maintained. Staff were following hospital policies and procedures in relation to infection prevention and control. The service managed staffing levels effectively within the peaks and troughs of a maternity service to ensure patients received safe and quality care.
