This review was to assess whether the trust had achieved compliance for outcome 14, which is about how staff are supported in their roles through supervision, training and appraisals. We had identified areas of non-compliance with this outcome in March 2011.

We used documentary evidence for this review. We did not visit the hospital to ask patients about this outcome, so we cannot report on their views.

During a routine inspection

Everyone we spoke to told us that staff were caring, courteous and respected their dignity. People said they were given enough information about their care and that staff helped them understand their treatment. We were frequently told that the food was good and that the hospital was kept clean.
