Our view of the service
The service was last inspected in 2022 and was rated inadequate. Following this inspection, the service has been rated good.
During this assessment, we looked at all quality statements across all five key questions. The rating reflects the findings from this inspection. We spoke with people using the service, families as well as staff. We reviewed information provided by the service before and after the onsite visit. The rating reflects the findings from this inspection.
The provider had systems to assess, monitor and improve the quality of care. Clear processes supported safe care, effective teamwork and good decision‑making. Care planning was organised and helped staff respond to changing need. Staff were trained, supported and worked well together to provide caring, person‑centred care. We found clear evidence that people were asked for their consent to care and treatment and that their wishes were respected. The service was responsive to individual needs and care was planned and delivered in a person‑centred way.
People's experience of this service
We spoke to patients and their family although in limited numbers as most end-of -life patients were very unwell at the time of the inspection. We also reviewed feedback as patients were listened to and encouraged to comment on their experience of care within the service.
People using the service and those close to them spoke positively about their experience of care. People felt involved in decisions about their care and said their wishes and preferences were respected.
