Our current view of the service

Outstanding

Updated 13 January 2025

Date of assessment: 18 March to 28 April 2025. Respectful Care is a domiciliary care agency providing personal care to people living with dementia and older people in their own homes. At the time of our assessment 96 people were receiving the regulated activity of personal care.

The provider ensured the safety of people and had clear policies and procedures in place to protect people from the risk of avoidable harm and abuse. They worked with people to identify, assess and mitigate risks prior to care commencing.

People’s care was planned in an exceptionally personalised way, in line with current legislation and best practice. The provider had an exceptional understanding of the diverse health and care needs of people and ensured staff were equipped with the appropriate skills to support these needs. Staff always treated people with kindness and empathy and understood the importance of supporting people to maintain their independence and dignity.

The provider genuinely cared and promoted staff wellbeing to enable them to always deliver person-centred care. The provider had cultivated a compassionate culture amongst their staff and staff were proud to work for Respectful Care. The provider had a strong focus on continuous learning and improvement across the organisation.

People's experience of the service

Updated 13 January 2025

People we spoke with all gave excellent feedback about the provider and the staff who supported them. Their comments included, “This is an agency that says, ‘yes we can,’” “We are very impressed with all aspects of care,” “The carers make it special in so many ways,” and “They are not just 'doing' the care but enhancing it.”

People described the care as “over and above” and we saw many examples of how the provider supported people to achieve positive outcomes and continue doing the things that were important to them.
